It seems as though while we were on holiday on the Northumberland coast spring arrived. We had a lovely week walking along perfect sandy beaches watching Oystercatchers, Eider Duck, Sanderlings, Curlews, and most exciting of all, a Barn Owl at dusk floating over the dunes.
We got home on Saturday and on Sunday suddenly the sunshine was warm. I started work at the allotments, clearing a patch of couch grass. Got quite a bit done, but I'm aching all over now!
Today I finally got the chance to do a bit of seed sowing. In the propagator I've now got -
Coriander
Celery leaf
Basil
Mixed lettuce
Chard
Red Russian kale
